The town of Jaffrey, NH is celebrating Willa Cather and the 100th anniversary of My Antonia next week.

The name of this two-day event is Willa Cather’s Spirit Lives On! Festivities kick off with an evening reception on Friday, October 19th. Special guests include Ashley Olson and Tracy Tucker, the Executive Director and Director of Education & Archivist, respectively, of the Willa Cather Foundation in Red Cloud, Nebraska.

On Saturday, October 20th, attendees will tour various Cather sights in town including her burial site and the field where, for years each autumn, she pitched a tent and wrote. There will also be special exhibits, performances, and a Cather-themed dinner. To visit the event website and to register, click here

There are only 140 tickets available and they are expected to sell-out. It doesn’t look like I’ll be able to attend, but I wanted to let you all know about this special event. Especially those of you in New England.
