Today is my nine-year anniversary blogging here at WildmooBooks and I’m excited to announce a new reading challenge, The Willa Cather Short Story Project!
Beginning in February, I’m embarking on an adventure to read all of Cather’s short stories, one per month.
Details about this project, including the reading list and schedule, can be found via the menu bar under the Willa Cather tab’s shiny new drop-down menu option, “Cather Short Stories” or just click this link: chriswolak.com/cather-short-stories/.
The first phase of this project will take 20 months to complete. This is a much longer undertaking than the twelve month Willa Cather Novel Reading Challenge I hosted in 2012.
I hope you’ll consider joining me for all or part of this project!
I am not a short story person, but I keep trying. I am in!!
Yay, Kate! I like the idea of short stories but always gravitate toward books when its time to read something new. I figured one a month will take some time, but at least its easily doable.
I’m in Chris. Ready for anything Cather. Robin
I know you are, Robin! Wish we lived closer to have regular Cather chats together.
I’m currently reading my way through Mavis Gallant’s short stories (Alice Munro before that), and I find it hard to fit other collections around those stories (I aim for 12/year beyond my current project reading) but I will try to find a way to insert some Cather around all that. Off to look for a collection now.
